Pimville tells the story of a new Africa and a new future

The small township of Pimville in Soweto has a unique and extraordinary African story that dates back to the very beginnings of Johannesburg, South Africa.

Philanthropist, James Howard Pim, who emigrated to South Africa from Ireland in 1890 to become a city councillor in Johannesburg in the early 1900’s played an instrumental role in formalising the living conditions of many Africans whom, at the time, did not have the fortune of sharing in the riches of the developing gold mine which is Johannesburg.

This township was named for Pim, who is widely regarded as the father of Pimville.

Together with other areas like Orlando, Klipspruit and Eldorado Park it has developed into what has arguably become the world’s most famous township – Soweto. The home of greats such as Walter Sisulu, Nelson Mandela, Oliver Thambo, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Thuli Madonsela, Trevor Noah and Desmond Tutu, to name but a few.

Pimville Gin

Pimville Gin is triple distilled with the finest ingredients from South Africa.

We use the best quality spirit which is distilled with the finest citrus, bergamot, natural spices and juniper berries.

To give the spirit a unique African taste and flavour, we have combined it with Marula fruit, Baobab and African Ginger to provide a truly unique African expression of flavours.

Baobab, from the Limpopo province, adds a fruit-forward and aromatic note to the gin. African ginger, or Natal ginger as it is sometimes called, adds spice and complexity, while the Marula fruit from Mpumalanga adds a vibrant acidity and tangy finish.

Drink our gin neat, over ice, or with your favourite mixer.
